On April 26, the second Student Academic Forum andAcademician Appointment Ceremony was held in the 400-person lecture hall ofGraphic Information Center. Academician Yang Weimin, academician of the ChineseAcademy of Engineering, organic chemical expert, Dean of Sinopec ShanghaiResearch Institute of Petrochemical Technology, Director of the State KeyLaboratory of Green Chemistry and Industrial Catalysis; academician Qian Wei,academician of the American Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering,lifelong professor of the University of Texas, honorary dean of NortheasternUniversity of China; academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering,automation expert, internationally renowned expert in the study of intelligentbionic robots, life-long professor of the National University of Agricultureand Technology of Japan. Academician Deng Mingcong, a lifelong professor ofA&M University, President Xie Huaqing, Vice President Ding Li, heads ofrelevant functional departments, Heads of Colleges, Deputy Secretaries in chargeof student work, and representatives of faculty and students and more than 400people attended the forum.

    After the forum, Academician Yang Weimin, accompanied by President Xie Huaqing,came to the School of Energy and Materials, visited the Analysis and TestingCenter on the first floor of the School, exchanged views with professors of theSchool's Academic Committee and key faculty members, and gave further guidanceon the institution's joint cultivation of graduate students and joint researchcooperation.
